Vodka dosing my tank.

So, before I move, I want to experiment with vodka dosing. I've read quite a few articles on the subject now and have a very good grasp of the idea behind it. I have printed out a chart and I am listing the dates and following the directions. I bought the cheapest vodka I could find - and it's 80 proof. I couldn't find anything less than that. So, according to the directions, I dose .1ml for three days, and then step it up each week by a little bit after that.
I only have two little soft corals in the tank right now - and a few fish. So, I think it's safe to say that a little experiment shouldn't do any harm at this point.
I am trying to get my temperature issues under control in the next couple of days. I know that my pH stays pretty steady over time, which is awesome.
What I am looking for out of this experiment is increased skimmate production, reduction of nitrates and phosphates, and reduction of algae in the display tank (and sump, for that matter).
I want to be able to get rid of the hair algae (by experimentation with vodka) before I move my tank to a new apartment. If this doesn't work, I'll just put my rocks in the dark for a week or two and start fresh.
So, day one will be this coming Friday.

Thanks buddy.
I have been following a couple people on the big forums and i am starting to feel pretty confident in myself. At least got enough courage to try it.

I have been dosing vodka in my 125 for about three months right now. I was up to about 5ml and have cut back to 3ml with still good results. As mentioned above with the Hana checker I find really accurate tests for nitrate and Phosphate seam to really help you see whats going on. I prefer the vodka over GFO. I will be fallowing along nice to see another carbon doser getting on board.
