I've never heard of it, but I would bet it would be a great way to kill the fish. Where did you here that? Be interesting if it were really true, may be...I dunno.

When I first started to do FW I read an article that stated that using vodka is one of the more humane ways to put a fish to sleep.

vodka is suposed to add amino acids that sps and other corals use for nutrition, similar to Zeovit, all that crap sux IMO. el naturel is the way to go

Haha, I've always heard that too. Vodka or any alchohol can be used to euthanise (sp?) fish humanely.

Yes, it takes a few shots, but once you are blurry eyed enough, all you will see is the 00000's

just when i thought this hobby couldnt get any more exspencive now i have to buy vodka.
even if it was true my tank gets enough of my blood, sweat and tears. those damn fish get none of my boose:nope:

no, they like margarita's the best, and....they like Jimmy Buffet blasting in the tank by way of water proof speakers. It's true, ask any Parrot Head!

i actually read something about adding vodka to your tank before. I dont remember how much but its supposed to work. I wouldnt try it though. I used it to cull deformed angelfish when i was still doing FW.

I have a recipe that says adding vodka to the water before you boil lobsters helps to put them out of their misery humanely. My guess is that if it kills lobsters, it cannot be too safe for your tank.
