I just got a 60 gallon tank off e.b.a.y.com. It includes live rock, sump, filter, protein skimmer, 700 watts of lighting, substrat, and fish food and chemicals for only $300
!
I need some advice for this tank. The story is that i found it and origanly it says it comes with a powder brown tang, a royal gramma, some chromis, an xeina coral, and a mystory wrasse. But the offer was only for the buy it now icon. I did the bitting so i did not get those things but i did get live rock, sump, filter, 700 watt lights and etc. I am supost to pic it up tomorrow and I want to tranfur my fish in my 30 gallon tank to the 60 gallon tank in the same order i added the fish to my tank.
Also how am i supost to tranport the tank from my house to his. The drive is 1 hour and 40 min.
I need some tips for this tank.
Thanks

What kind of lights did you get? Halides? T-5's? Just wondering. Not a bad deal at all. I had to do the same thing with my tank though. What I mean is I live in Idaho and I bought a tank that was in Utah, and it was an existing system. What I did was took plenty of buckets so that I could put all the sand and rock in the buckets with some water. We emptied the tank and put it into the back of a pickup truck with a blanket inbetween the bed of the truck and tank so it didnt get scratched. It is like a 4 hour drive from where the tank was to my house. I got it home and filled it up with the live sand that it had in it before and put about 20 gallons of the water in it that I had broght home and then mixed new water with it and it was good from there. I had a sally light foot crab that was a hitchhiker and it survived the journy as well as the short cycle that my tank had due to the live sand and rock that I bought with it.
I would wait on adding your fish to it until you are sure that the it is done cycling or until you are positive it isnt going to cycle. Probably a good thing you didnt get thecorals.

Just throw all the rock on a tarp in your trunk. Live stock in 5gallon buckets with lids. Put the tank where you can with the sand still in the bottom.
When you set it back up use the water from your 30 gal and make the rest new. If you do this you wont have to worry about the tank cycling again.
