well....
I always make a joke that if you want to feel better about yourself go to walmart... always someone there with it worse than you.
The bashing is usually for people that shop there... not that work there.
Im not saying all walmart shoppers are trashy... but i guarantee if you seperate them into groups... well the majority will be unsavory characters.

I have to agree with pwnag3 on this one. Nothing against people that work there but you don't want to go in the place on welfare week. I'll stick with Target

I better be able to save a lot to wait 210 minutes for a parking spot, and stand in a line for 30 minutes, and MOST of the people that work at my Walmart are the rudet people, I cant even begin to describe. Love the concept though, but will stick with Target. Sorry, just an observation here in Pickerington, Ohio

Ok, Ill admit it. I like walmart. :nervous:
Now let me explain.... lol
When I lived in Louisville, I had no problems. They had just built a super walmart and there was parking out the wazzoo and you didnt have to wait long in line or anything. Nice clean store. Friendly people.
Now, when I moved back up here, well thats another story. Parking sucks. They only have like 3 registers open. I stood line in for 20 minutes once just trying to pay for my 8 items. 8 items! 20 minutes!
So anywho... thats my story.

I like Wal-Mart, too. However, my town doesn't have a regular Wal-Mart like what you all are talking about. Ours is called Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market and the only thing they sell is what you'd find in a grocery store like Tom Thumb or Albertson's. I have to drive to the next town to find a "real" Wal-Mart.

I think the walmart thing is all on what you had or have to shop at when you are younger. We always had Target and I prefer Target hands down. My experience with walmart is that they tend to go into the smaller towns, at least where I hail from, and they bankrupt every small mom and pop business already going. So, I guess I don't go to walmart because it's a protest thing for me. It's all personal opions. I grew up in MN where for 30 years all we had was Target and walmart only came into some areas in the past 15 years.

Wal-Marts quota is "World Domination". I once watched the CEO talk on TV. He talked about this. You are so right... They move mom and pop shops out. Look at the wal mart they are building in Mexico. Right on some Ruins. There was a big stink about it and wal marts attitude was we dont care. We will be supplying 2000 jobs for people who dont have a job. What a cop out

Takia - I agree with the way you described the walmart in Pickerington. I can not stand the lines or the parking lot. I would spend more to not have to deal with it.

Well I agree with you on there SOME.... yea they do take some smaller places out of buisness... (I would know I have seen it before in my own town) BUT they also completely relocate small towns.... They go into small towns and build just out of the town so all the smaller buisnesses go bankrupt and start making a whole new area to shop... Therefore is makes people build new hoses next to Wal-Mart...........The community should have to make Wal-Mart build in town so that it will keep them making new buildings in town isteed of nocking down all the old buildings............thats what I think

Ditto on the putting other businesses bankrupt and leaving empty buildings around. They make new gettos. We had one here the people protested against supersizing it in another location. Of course, they got their way. If they want to provide jobs, why do they have self-serve check-outs? I can't understand why people will deal with the parking lots and the crowded aisles. The one good thing, I can walk in the K-mart next door, get what I want, without turning it in to an all day field trip. I guess you can tell. I'm not a shopper.

My feelings on Wal_Mart can be best explained by relating a true story...
A few years ago a new Super center opened here and I was in it on business on day...I over heard a conversation between a exutive type and a vendor(Pepsi)...the conversation was about the concept that Wal_Mart is about safing people money...and all the good they do in communities. We'll I heard enough propaganda to make me want to vomit so I causually mentioned that I'd heard the conversation but had a question....
My question to the Wal_Mart excetutive was this..." If what you say is true...that wal_Mart is about saving folks money...then why is it I see the children of Mr. Walton on the richest people list and why is it y'all have so many multi-millionaire upper level management folks....seems to me you SAY you save us money.....but you really intend to rob us blind!"
True story...needless to say the management dude was very pissed!!!!!!!!
