Vote with your wallet. Don't go shopping on that day, and encourage others to boycott as well.
I understand that the economy is going to leave retailers in a big lurch this year, but there is no reason they need to encourage this type of behavior.
Sad that three people (and counting) died over this, but hopefully some people will think twice before camping out at a store to be the first one in at 5 am.
