Squidd, would you trust that switch hooked directly to the filter constantly under pressure...I just fear it sticking open and then a flood of course. I know anything is possible. But what do you think are the chances of them failing ? Or anyone ever have one cause a flood when hooked to their filter...
I want to get one but not sure how trust werthy they are....

I have an extremely high tech one. A bucket, a hose, and a toy snorkel from the dollar store.

I run three of them directly off my pressurized RO...
One in reef sump, one in 210 sump and a third in WC tub...
Three-four years now NEVER a problem...
Am I just "lucky"...I doubt it..
Are people paranoid...probably...
Did they set it up wrong or not bother with occasional maintenance...Most likely...

But if you are concerened....the 5 gallon bucket method pictured above will limit the amount of water available to flood tank...(you don't have to fill it full)
Only problem there is with gravity feed, the bucket has to be higher than sump...which can sometimes be a problem in an under stand sump...
