I say, if it helps ease the mind then go ahead and rinse your frozen foods. If you enjoy keeping macro's then it's just extra food for them that you're rinsing away.
I guess re-feeding algae back to your tangs in a way is simply just re-cycling food. Tangs need to eat one way or another. Hungry little things, they are.
