inlet sump fuge outlet let the skimmer clean the water as much as posible before it goes through the fuge. as far as the trates go the fuge can only help. the pod WILL come. dosn't mater if you want them or not. Not clear on the micro

Would the coral and fish I currently have in my tank benifit from more pods?

more pod = more food and they help keep the trates in the sb down so yea they will be good for your fish, also your coral will eat free floating pods as well. Imo they are a good addition to dts. Im not familar with macro, unless it is a small shrimp. A fuge over time will have alot of small copod sized critters. all help to create a more accurate tank (accurate in relation to a reef). I would highly recomend a fuge

make sure you dont have anything on the pipe from the fuge to the tank ie uv, skimmer, micron filter you dont want to kill the pods before they reach the tank.
