Don't know what part of Al your in, but there is a place in MOntgomery which has good LR, and there is a place in Birmingham that supposedly has some nice rock......The montgmery place Aquarium Fantasies has a large tank of it, and its fully cycled.......for what its worth, and there is yet another small mom and pop shop in the same town but the rock is not as nice, but its good rock.....Kind of bland with coraline.....
The B'ham place Aquarium Design has good prices and nice rock from what I am told.......but it may be going out of business shortly.

That stinks, I try to visit Aquarium Designs every time I'm in or passing through B'ham.
I like all of the frags they keep in the back.
I bought a frag in Aquarium Fantasies the other day, it is a really nice little shop. My girlfreind looked around more than I did and she thought it was a nice place too.
I have never purchased rock from either place, but they both have nice looking LR.
I have purchased some rock from a shop in Huntsville, I can't think of the name right now Aqarium something I think :notsure: . I was very pleased with them. I had ask them if I could buy uncured rock before they put it in their tanks and they said yes. They told me when the shipment would be their and I could come in and pick it up then. They left it in the box the received it in and let me pick the pieces I wanted, I thought this was very nice of them. This is also a nice shop in Alabama. This shop dosen't keep as much LR on hand as the store in B'ham.

The deal with Aquarium Designs in B'ham is the fello that has done all the coral propagation is leaving and opening up his own corals shop.........thing is, it wil be wholesale to dealers only, no pulic retail sales...I have heard that Aquarium Design is many many months behind in the rent and paying bills etc, and that they were served papers or something like that to vacate.........I heard they have another store in B'ham but have never been there, but then I hear that that store was supposed to be closed up once they moved into the store near the Galeria that they are in now.......so I really do not know.......
The biggest thing I dislike about Aquarium Fantasies is the hours. It does not open up until the afternoon, and usually by then I am in the middle of something. One thing I will not do is head intothatsectin of town on a Friday afaternoon or evening period, as it can take all day to go from traffic light to traffic light as traffic is big time bad............same thing for Saturdays all day long......I like to get things in town taekn care of early so my day is relatively open yet to do other things without having to stop just to run to town.

Thanks for the info I go to Aquarium Designs both of them but the one in inverness doesn't have much and the one by the mall is good and has a lot of stuff I have got most of my sand and rock from them but I was just trying to beat $7 a lb. BTW I am in Sylacauga (yes in the middle of no where). How much is the rock in Aquarium Fantasies?

You can get Live Rock for $6 a pound if you buy 10 + pounds at The Aquarium Shop in Huntsville Al, if you are willing to travel that far. It would be about a one and a half hours drive from the Galleria mall in B'ham.
