At the point were we want to start over again
after all our fish have died.
A year ago we started our first SW tank w/2x 3striped damsel fish (to cure tank), then added a Flame Angel, month later..rainbow wrasse, lined Goby, and later a Clown tang.
The Clown Tang soon started to develop ich.
we then purchased a cleaner shrimp to help and started reading on proper cures. We lowered the Salinity to 1.011, still got worse..LFS said to do FW dip...didn't help. Then set up a Qtank with Maracyn-2
and later went to copper - in the end the Clown Tang gave in despite all our efforts(later found that all the Clown Tangs from same shipment died also)
2 months later we moved into a new house-creating a little more havoc on the remaining
fish(the angel and damsels)The Angel soon started to show same signs - white dots all over-Tried Kent Rxp instead as we thought the stress of the Qtank would make things worse.mistake.2 weeks later Angel died, leaving just the 2 damsels for the next 6 mnths.
O.K. we just returned our healthy damsels as
they might be passive carriers(also believe they starved out our wrasse and Goby as they are pigs and didn't let any food fall to the bottom.)We're planning on waiting 4+weeks to kill off potential parasites then begin purchasing new fish....Want to do this right!
Should we purchase one at a time and quarantine new fish with observation /treatment?
Should we purchase all at once to avoid territorial prblms?
How do most begin addition of fish?
Defintely will look at fish's behavior, belly, etc extremely closely B4 purchasing next time- but still very terrified that this may occur again!!
Looking to possibly buy:
1-royal gramma
1-jawfish or goby
1-percula clown
1-sailfin tang
1-undecided angel
currently have 5 blueleg & 5 redleg hermits
sorry about the "book" - promise future postings will be more brief - this is first time and just want to paint the scene!
Any expertise would be greatly appreciated!Cheers!
