Want to relocate Xenia

I bought my first Xenia today, he's so pretty! Anyway, the LFS had him on the sandbed so I figured I best put him there too. On the picture below of my tank he's on the right hand side. I want him up on the rock on the left hand side though. Once he opens and is happy, how long should I have him in my tank before I move him? Is that too big of a move at once? I have 260 PC's and I think they are stronger than what the LFS had him under.

Secondly, does this Candycane seem alive to you still? I don't know much about them, got it a week ago.

The Xenia can be moved anytime, but be careful as it will spread like a weed and overtake any neighboring rocks. The candy cane looks dead to me :(

Do Xenia really grow that fast? If so I'll move him over asap as right now he really has nowhere to grow, he's on this tiny tiny little rock. I wouldn't mind if he took over that rock, I love that pink!
No candycane eh.

Yeah, they can get out of control rather quickly. Can you get a pic of the candy cane from the front (where the mouth would be), up close?

I can't seem to get one without moving him and I'm afraid to. I don't know what they should look like but if I had to describe his mouth I'd say it looks like the setting of a diamond ring without the diamond. Guess that's not a good thing but I'll give him a week to see if he's just hiding.

You won't hurt him by moving him, I move mine all the time. Does it appear as if there is any flesh on the tips?

You can move that xenia anywhere. I have straight up abused mine to move them. Tearing them away and stuffing them into another crack in the rocks never fazes it. I think Xenia would grow in my toilet if i let it.

Hows your lighting? I wouldnt mind if you moved him up on that higher LR if you wanted to, prepare for spreading under the right conditions, C.C. looks to far gone im afraid.

I'll move him up tomorrow then... he's all opened up now and his little fingers are opening and closing. Guess he's happy. The LFS had me get some Zooplex stuff to feed him but haven't yet.

There is really no need to "feed" Xenia persae, they get most of their "feeding" from photosynthesis and nutrients in the water ea phosphates, nitrates..

Hey Id put that xenia in the highest place in the tank I could find. If you dont...it will! and leave tiny xenias in
its path. These things spread like wild fire.

You have NO idea how excited I am to hear that! I was bummed that all I could afford was this tiny piece of the pink Xenia.

Xenia dos not need to be fed with the plankton. My LFS said the same thing they just want you to spend more money so they scare you with storys (like it will die in a week or 2 if you dont feed it) they did the same thing to me lol.
