A good rule to go by is one inch of fish per three gallons of water. But that is just a guide line. Some fish need a heavier bioload, while others don't. So if you have a 60 gallon tank, you can have roughly 20 inches of fish. You can have five fish that are four inches long, 10 that are two inches long, etc. But remember your fish will grow, so you need to take that into account.

Hey Thomas, a slight thread steal here, what length is your tank. My 90 is 48" and I was wondering how you got all that lighting underneath in a "hood". I've got 550 vho and not much space left. Are your mh in the center with two vho on each side lengthwise? Would like to see a pic if so? I like my vho, but if I could easily do a slight upgrade I might consider it.

MH is up front and the 4 URI VHO bulbs are kindof staggered. The VHO bulbs are 46.5 inches.
They are in a custom built canopy, made by broomer5. It is the same canopy that he had over his 75 gallon. When broomer5 got out of the hobby I purchased his canopy. Mine is a 90 gallon with same top dimentions. 48 inches long.
Pics of broomer5's canopy can be found in this past thread.

Hope that helps.

1 Orange Spotted Goby named Nuddskee aka Nudd
1 Maroon Clown named Doink
1 Assorted Mushroom coral stone
1 Green Mushroom coral stone
1 Yellow Polyp stone
Had a Christmas Tree coral, but it pissed its bed shortly after transferring it to my tank. R.I.P.. I'd like to get another one though, I think they are cool.
I want a Six Line Wrasse really bad, cant find one locally for some reason. I also want a Blue Sapphire Damsel and a Flame Angel. That'll be the rest of my community.
Also will be building another tank this year, probably either a 72g Bow Front or the 92g bowfront corner tank, and I want to put a Lionfish in it.

in my 72, I have a yellow tang, 2 false percs, 2 bangaiis, and a coral beauty. I am thinking very strongly of adding either a royal gramma or a 6 line wrasse
