I am captivated by the very large reef aquariums in the office I work at. Long have I desired to start an saltwater aquarium. Money is a factor, as the wife and I just took out a

for a house we bought and will move into in October. A year from now we plan on buying a 60 gallon tank, but I want to get started now, and will of course need a quarantine tank. I figured a ten gallon Nano looks like it would fit the bill for me economically and size wise to begin with. I have heard the smaller the harder, but I am pretty crafty (at least I hope.) I have found a site that sells all-in-one nanos and the one in particular is at this link: http://www.aquabuys.com/miva/merchan...oduct_Count=17 It is a 10 gallon Aqua Buys nano reef starter kit and sells for $199. It comes w/ the filter, power head, heater and more. Also if I could have some info on Bio Cubes, i.e. success and etc. I have seen a little about them and they seem cost effective, even cheaper than the link I have above. At this price, do they really work that well? If there are any thoughts on this, or any other advice, I would appreciate it. Thanks a bunch.

Nanos can be just as easy as a big tank as long as you stay on top of it. Check out the Nano Cubes & Aqua Pods. A lot of people have them & I kind of think they're priced better than that kit you posted.

Not a bad deal since you get everything. Only problem is the filtration. I woudnt recommend that filtration. Therefore, I recommend buying a nanocube (JBJ) or an aquapod. They have a built in filtration and everything can be closed lid (less water evaporation). Downside to it is that you would have to buy salt, hydrometer, test kit, etc whereas the one your looking at comes with all of that. It is better to spend money on something really good then to spend less money on something thats ok and later spending more money to make it good. Get what im saying?

I have a store near by that sells saltwater at about $2.00 a gallon and cuts the nitration period from 6 weeks down to 2. As far as what is better, nanocube or aquapod, does that really come down to preference? I think I will go that route instead of that large kit.
