Wanting to add 3rd Vortech

I have two MP40w ES on my 125. I have a dead spot in the center of my tank, between the two islands. I want to add another vortech and was considering adding it on the back wall of the tank. Since the tank is only 18" wide I figured I can get away with a MP10w ES, yeah?

I can't see why it would be a problem, you are putting a current perpendicular to the front glass ,yes?
That's correct. The MP40's are on either side of the tank and thought it would be a good idea to add some perpendicular flow in the center.

I don't see anything wrong with that. The water streams might offset and blow your sand about, so put the 3rd powerhead about an inch above.

Yeah, it should be interesting to see how the sandbed reacts to the extra flow. I'm already experiencing bare spots, but I guess I can always add coarser grained sand in those spots.

I have 3 MP40's on my 180......one on each side...and one on the back.......the one on the back is actually lower then the others, and I have no issues with sand movement
you should be fine

How do you have them synced? Isn't there a special way to run 3 vortechs?

The one on the back is not a W....so It just runs on random mode
the other 2 run on random mode....BUT opposite of eachother
I have MP10's on my other tanks.....and all the ones (except my blue box on the 29G) go to feed mode by just setting one
