Wanting to start a shark tank?

With active sharks all the dimensions of the tank are important so I feel that the 4ft would be good Although it will be hard to clean, but that's what comes with really big tanks. The lfs I go to has a 4ft high tank and they use a really big magnet to clean the glass and it seems to work well.
If you want it to be not as high Wolffvet, the LOWEST I'd go is 3ft(I like 4ft better though).

I appreciate all the help from everyone, I will proably go ahead and make it 4 feet and I will check out the skimmers. Again thanks to everyone

I recommend building your own skimmers. The skimmers you will need for a tank that large will cost an insane amount of money. You can make your own for probably 1/8 the cost of buying them, and if built and set up correctly will work every bit as good, if not better. Pick up the book, Aquarium Devices and How They Function, by P.R. Escobal. It will teach you everything you need to know (and more) about building your own skimmers.
