I think I just ruined a new tank, while setting up the new glass tank I was wearing a pair of Levi jeans and the rivot on the front pocket of my jeans made contact with the glass tank. I now have about 5 scratches on the tank. all right in a nice row, about 1 1/2 - 2 inches long, of course on the front and very noticable. Is there any way of fixing these????
WARNING: be very careful of wearing jeans or any clothes with anything that could scratch your tank like this while working on it. I never thought of anything like this at all before this happened.

Jewelers rouge might work if the scratches aren't too deep. If you know someone that repairs auto windshields, they have a way of buffing minor scratches. It depends on how deep they are. Good Luck.

I work at a plant that manufactures auto glass, and regretfully, there is no way to take out deep scratches. For lighter ones, we use a high-speed air powered buffer with a polishing compound. HTH

Yeah I have the same problem in a 90 gallon that I'm not using. When I took the crushed coral out I didn't realize that it was scrathing up the corner where I was scooping it out of. I wish there was a way to get rid of the scratches.
