washing sand

I have heard of people washing sand before adding it to the tank. I have coralife special grade seaflor sand should I do that. doesn't it wash out the bacteria? do I have to seed it with ls or will lr seed it? thanks

is it already wet sand with saltwater and bacteria in it? If so then do not wash it. When I added dry sand to my tank I washed it because it gets alot of the silt out and your tank will not could up as much.

this is what I thought. the sand I have is wet but doesn't say anything about being live or have bacteria although it says it has different elements (like ca).
