wat to do with this 10g?

righttt, im gettin a 130g 6' long tank for christmas so my QT is now free, all the fish are in my 25g DT now which is going to be a QT for my 130g.
im not buying anymore fish untill like febuary so there are going to be no fish in the QT, only got 2 fish in the DT at that,
anyways, wat shall i do with this 10g?
i was thinking maybe, nano aggresive? like a angler and a hawaii lion in there? if thats ok for them to go in there?
if not then like maybe a seahorse tank?
or maybe even a clown and anemone tank, im not too sure about going nano reef tho. not too keen on them.
so yes, what are your thoughtts?

Do a lot of general reading on seahorses before you start thinking about getting into dwarfs. They're the only available seahorse I haven't kept because of the work involved. There's never a day you can take a break from it....

Some thoughts:
Pistol shrimp/goby setup
Anemone/clown setup
Non-reef safe invert setup
Harlequin shrimp
Clam Garden (eventually they'll get to big for this tank, but it should take some time)
Cold salt water tank, for something like a Catalina Goby.

Ohhhhh.... a shrimp goby mix. That would be SWEET!
To set up a coldwater tank, you'd need a chiller, though.

I'm about to set up my 14G as a shrimp/goby tank. I got a Randalli pistol shrimp as a hitchhiker in some live rock last month and now I'm hooked. Plus, I love my yellow watchman gobies :)

Or a very cold room (like a basement) like I have. I've heard cold water tanks are a PITA, but I've been thinking about trying it out since I really like the catalina.

They just have to make sure it can stay cool year round. I believe they should be kept in the 60s...
We are starting up a coldwater non-photosynthetic biotope. We are not going to start until we move the beginning of next year because we are going to have to install an auto backup generator.

but the pistol shrimp idea could workk,
but i saw a video of a pistol shrimp killing a cleaner shrimp by shooting waves of hot water at them, it said the temp can nearly reach the temp of the sun for like 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000001of a second?
is this true? or is it all lies?
i think ima go for the anemone/clown idea, i'll only have 1RBTA and let it split etc. i need to get a metal halide for it tho wont i? atmthe lighting in there is a 15w double t5 which came with the tank, its ok for some corals because the depth is very small, but im not sure about a anemone, do i need new lights?
also, if the clowns breed, and i have a cleaner shrimp in there, will the shrimp eat the eegs?

is this true? or is it all lies? Hype. Yes they can kill cleaner shrimp, but I know many people that keep pistols with cleaners. It's all about tank size. You can have a pistol in a 10G and have no issues. I know the video you're talking about. It's exaggerated.

You could actually do the pistol shrimp/goby idea AND the clown/anemone. This way you'd have top, middle and bottom environments. Just stay on top of water clarity, etc.

yehh ok, i think i'll do that. which should i add first? i've got a blueface in there atm under hypo, then tomorrow night im going to start raising salinity, so i should be ready for this in about a week:D
wat goby would you suggest to keep??

You don't have sand in this tank yet, right? If so you'll need sand for the pistol shrimp and goby. As well as a really good rock for them to burrow under. They'll make a cave.
Any of the watchmen gobies, on this site there's a section under Gobies where the ones that will pair with pistol shrimp are listed as "Shrimpgoby." The yellow watchman is one of the easier ones. I would do the Blue Spot (Cryptocentrus pavoninoides), yellow watchman (Cryptocentrus cinctus) or the Randalli aka Orange Stripe Prawn Goby (Amblyeleotris randalli). The yellow watchman stays smaller than the other two I've listed, so you may want to take that into consideration in a 10G, but any of the three should be okay.
As for a pistol shrimp, I prefer the Randalli Pistol shrimp, AKA Red Banded Pistol Shrimp (Alpheus randalli). They are much easier to pair than some other species. The Tiger Pistol Shrimp blends into the sand too much. The Bullseye Pistol Shrimp (Alheus soror) will almost never pair with a goby.
Add the two at the same time. Make sure that the shrimp isn't too small or the goby will just eat it. Sometimes you can get a goby/pistol shrimp that is already paired from your LFS. You may want to look into that to make things easier. One of my yellow watchman paired with a Peppermint shrimp, lol, so anything is possible.
As for adding the clowns or the shrimp/goby pair first. it's totally up to you. If it were me, I'd get the shrimp/goby established first.

ok, i'll give it a go, i've got sand for the tank, just not in there yet, my LFS will have to order the pistol shrimp for me, because they dont get them in often at all, dont know why, but yeh, then i think ima go for yellow watchman, not sure yet tho, and yehh i have some LR that'll do good in there, and yehh i'll add them first, then a few months on i'll add the others, i need to leave it a couple months untill the tank has been 6 months old, then i'll get the anemone, less chance of it dieing, but im still not convinced 15w lighting is enough for a nem, are you sure its ok?

Bubble tips are easier under lower lighting than some of the other anemones. Try a regular bubble tip and see how it does first, because roses are expensive to take the chance on. If you build up the rock and can get it close to the light you have a better chance. It's only a 10G, so you should, key word: SHOULD, be okay.
