I am so proud to be American today! The French tried this yesterday and got one hostage killed! If the Captain would have been killed it would have been a real black eye for the country as a whole...
To tell you the truth, after watching Meet the Press today, I dont think this has anything to do with OBAMA... It was said today that Obama had as strict wait and see attitude and left the Admirals in charge of everything.

Obama could run in front of a bus to push a pregnant Sarah Palin carrying George Bush's illegitimate love child, and future head of the GOP out of harms way, and the people on this board would find some way to make him a bad guy.

That's correct .. I didn't mention Obama because it was the Navy Seals that got the job done and they deserve the credit.

I've known several Seals over the years and those guys are the best of the best. They are all a little loco though. You have to be.
If you read the article, it said Obama gave permission to act if it was felt the Captain was in imminent danger which is a common sense statement. The military made the call to do it based on what Obama said when they had an AK-47 pointed at the captain's back.

WHat about the one that surrendered. I imagine the ACLU will want us to pay for a first rate lawyer for him
The way I heard it reported Obama wanted to take a wait and see approach and the military came back and got him to change his mind. I wouldn't see it as a positive or negative for Obama personally, just a great day for the captain's family.
The other Pirates be P-Oed now. It's going to be time to cowboy up whether the liberals like it or not cause it sounds like they are going to target US ships now.

Here is an IDEA have our Destroyers escort our flagged shipping thru there hwever reflagg everyship thru there. Then arm the Phalnax guns to hit anything smaller than the size of the boat the Pirates were on. Turn them on and wtach the show. Just make sure they are programmed to hit the water only.

Maybe we need to go back to WWII type merchant ship convoys protected by one or two coalition warships. I think this would work out for the time being until a permanent solution can be found. It makes better sense than to have a bunch of wandering sheep trying to sneak past a wolves lair.

You have to remember this also. All US Navy ships from a Fleet Oiler to a CVN have at least 4 Phalanx Gatling guns onboard for close in defense. Range on them is at least 2 miles. The CWIS or R2D2 as the Sailors call it has a radar range of 10 miles and fires 5K rounds a MINUTE of 20mm Armor Piercing ammo. The latest ships also have the RAM or Rolling Airfram Missle defense system effective out to 10 miles. This is an addition to a Penguin ASM that any navy Helo can mount that is good to 40 miles. We do that and we could get all the ships thru that area and BLOW those mother ships out of the FREAKING WATER. A 20 foot Boston Whaler or Zodiac RIB does not get 450 miles out to sea without being towed or launched from a larger ship. Find those and sink them and we can stop these SOB's in their tracks.
