Watchman Goby won't stay put!

Well I just put my yellow watchman and pearly jawfish into the main tank. They were in the Qt for the last 3 1/2 weeks were at no time did the watchman try to jump out. I did have a board over the tank because of the jawfish. Well now since being in the main tank the watchman has found his way into the overflow 3 times. I removed him two of them(which was a pain in the @$$) and i have decided to let him in there for a few day because he doesn't look too well after me poking around with a net trying to get him out. Should i try to get him in the tank when the lights are out? He just doesn't want to stay down around the rocks. I guess i would take any advise that anyone can give. He is a cool little fish that for some reason wants to go to the top of the tank and swin through the teath of the wear. Oh well if anyone has any thoughts just shout out.
Thanks
Drew

I had a hard time with my watchman goby stay put too. Couple of times I found him on the drip plate of my wet/dry filter. I think the problem was he had no burrow to hide in.
We had a large clam shell I boiled to sterilize and I put it in there and dug the sand out from underneath.
I captured the goby and put him in there and has only visited the filter twice since then.
Now he is making his burrow deeper and goes from the shell to the rockwork.

well i don't know.. The second time i put him on the other side of the tank under some rocks but came back about 20 min later and he was at the wier about to swim into the overflow.. I tried to stop him but without any luck.

Damn this is frustrating... I have been looking for the jawfish all morning and finally looked in the filter pad i have in the sump. There he was dead. Well now hopefully the goby will decide to stay in the tank after i get him back out of the overflow. That just pisses me off because they have been doing well in the Qt for weeks now and the jawfish spent all day yesterday making a home. :( :(  :(
