Yesterday I bought a orange spotted watchman goby and so far he has just sat down at the front of my tank and occasionally hopped back and forth. Is he okay, or is this bahavior common to gobies. I have heard that he will form a relationship with a burrowing shrimp, what kind of shrimp do I need. I do not know of any burrowing shrimp

watchman gobies have been known to form relationships with pistol shrimp, a type of burrowing shrimp. the two of them will share the borrow together. i have been trying to catch one, a pistol shrimp, to put in with my blue check gobie to see the two interact.

I am still hoping someone will help me out with my new fish, the gobie has taken to getting on my rock a little bit, I guess because the dragon goby has been chasing him. But he still just lies in front of the tank when the lights go out. It is really sad and I really like him and I don't want to see him die. He hasn't eaten anything yet.
Any tips will be appreciated

All that I ever see watchman gobies do is lay in the sand!!
I would suggest you get a pistol shrimp!!
They are a really cool pair together, the goby just sits on the sand watching while the pistol shrimp clean out different caves then every night they close them up and restart in the morning!
Your watchman would not be board then
When the pistol shrimp snaps it claw you can hear it outside the tank-- hence the name pistol

I have and orange spot watchmen and he hides most of the time but loves to emerge from his cavern in hi 20L for frozen brine. I will buy a pistol shrip.

the shrimp is a pistol but their called pistol shrimp because the larger claw is used to make a loud clap through the tank and it stuns small shrimp like tiny peppermints and will basically paralze all the brine in ur tank.

Don't worry Lerch, my Yellow Watchman never gets on my rocks and only comes to the front of my tank when he's hungry. He loves brine shrimp and tolerates Formula 1.
