Hi all Thanks for all the help so far. Had a quick question, My spike has occured and my levels are stabelizing. I am getting ready to do my first water change after cycle. When i syphon some water should i suck up any of the junk on my sand bed? Not algae, looks more like old debris that has fallen of my rock. Or should i just leave it? Only have a 20 gal tank and i keep my pH up high to circulate water surface, Do any of you place one down low for base in a FOWLR? Thanks again for all your help:joy:

If you don't like the way it looks, then suck it up. Can't hurt. Just try not to pick up sand. If they are larger pieces, I like to use my tongs instead.
I run a 20 FOWLR with an Eclipse hood. But I also have a mini-jet about 2-3" up from the bottom for additional circulation.
