Water changes on a 72 gal

I'm just getting into the hobby and have reading the The Consientus Aquarist. What I haven't been able to find out yet is any information on what required water changes would be. The reason I ask now is because I've realized that this requirement is going to help drive my decision on where I should locate the tank which in turn will probably really drive our selection of what we elect to populate it with which will allow me to focus my reading better.
So that's the long winded version of me aksing how often and to what degree I'll have to make water changes. Thx.

O do 10-15 % monthly and more if there is a problem with the tank that needs more water changed out.
so with yours 10 gallons give or take is what I would change each time. some people do weekly water changes also it depends on you and your stocking on how much is needed for your system each is different.

Almost sounds as if you're overthinking the WC process, unless there's some unusual circumstance, it should have little/no effect on things such as tank location.
If a 10g change, then pick up a couple of 5g buckets to empty the tank water into (And only use them for that) and a couple more to pre-mix your fresh (no pun intended) saltwater in. A 5g bucket should be easy to handle, probably weigh 45lb or so when full. You could even put them on a garden/utility wagon to move them around if necessary if they're too heavy.
There are even devices that hook to a sink faucet that suction the water out of the tank and into your sink.
As Mike said, general consensus is around 10%-20% per change, change frequency I've read anywhere to once a week to once a month (More often always better)

I do 20% RO/ DI every week. It helps keep a healthy tank.
