Water changes

Yes, I would agree that with proper tank maintanece and very little bio-load (especially no fish) that water changes are not going to be needed. But for most people, like myself, who might slack in the weekly mechanical filtration cleanings and adaquete changes of aluminum oxide media, water changes help prevent a sudden algae outbreak.
And as NM Reef very nicely stated, water changes can't hurt anything so I don't see a reason not to recommend them.

Does it look something like this? This is a bad pic but I have sponges everywhere on the bottoms of my older rock.

BTW, my water change schedule is above, I also run a skimmer and carbon 24/7. I actually thought sponges were a pretty common thing.
