ok im pretty sure i understand how to do this now. i havent even done one yet though.(still got a waterless tank :( ) so as far as i know this is how it goes
1. decied how much your going to do(10%, 20%)
2. mix up the ammount of water you need and let it mix in a container of some sort with a powerhead or something 24-48 hours
3. remove the desired ammount of water from the tank.(what/how do you all do this)
4. add the new water.
am i right on all that?

just siphon out how much you want to change. I use 5 gal. buckets. i use 4 buckets use 2 to mix the new water in and 2 to fill up with old water. I dont know what kind of filtration you use but if you got a sump just put a tee in the return line and a ballvalve with some tubing so all you have to do for a water change is put the hose in the bucket and open the valve.:D
