I have notices my water has become some what clowdy but not so clowdy you can not see through it it looks like there are small fibers or particals floating around in the water. not sure what is going on the tank is 3 months old I have 1 clown fish, 6 blueleg crabs, 1 serpent star, and 1 flowerrock anenome. The water conditions are zeros across the board. pH is 8.3 and the salinity is .021 to .023 what could be the problem?????

Also a rookie but a few questions:
When was your last water change?
Do you change / maintain the mechanical media as required?

What kind of filtration do you have ?
I`ve seen this before
a friend of mine had an emperor 280 filter and thought he could just wash the filters out.
Well... you can only do that once or twice then the filter cartridge MUST be changed or you will get the little fibers floating everywhere in the tank.
as for cloudy water... same deal. filter cartridges only have a small amount of carbon in them and should be changed regularly.
also if you find you have to clean the cartridges more than normal,
cut back on feeding,
feed a little less.
remember,
more food = more crap
less food = less crap
hope this helps, good luck.

The cloudy water will go away in a couple of days that is just the sand and chemicals mixing process. just give it time my tank looked like sh it for the first week then looked awsome for a month then I had a green alge attack for about three weeks or so then after all of that I now have no real big problems and the tank water is clear and i have coriline alge growing on my rocks and everything looks awsome again. Like i said before just give it time. good luck and keep on waiting

I'm really new to SW but have done fresh for 20+yrs, If the haze doesn't come of with normal tank cleaning methods it probably won't. Sometimes when i have broke a tank down I could remove a small portion of the haze with vinegar but never cleared one completly.
