Water Current for Star Polyps

They do like a high water flow, plus they look cooler that way. When I moved mine into my new tank I placed them in a place with not so high flow, they are doing fine but they just don't look as cool. I plan on getting another powerhead soon

I've had the same experience as Scotts with GSP; the higher the flow, the better they look. But as long as there is enough flow to prevent junk from building up on the GSP's mat, then they should be fine.

It depends on your lighting.
I have mine on the sand perched up against another small piece of liverock. I keep it seperated so that it won't take over everything plus it makes it easy to frag.

You don't. As far as I know they are a combination of filter feeder and light.....feeder???? Sounds stupid but they use the light as well is what I am trying to say. They will feed off of the little itty bitty waste that is in your tank, as well as using the light, kind of like a regular plant. My lfs recommended adding this black powder to help feed them. But they recommended ALOT of things to add to my tank. The way I look at it any unused black powder will just turn to waste in the tank.
So long story short, I add nothing special to my tank for my GSPs and they are doing just fine.
