water flow and filtration

I have a 20 gallon tank set up but did not use a underground filter. I have live sand and about 15 pounds of live rock. I am only using a penguin 125 hang on filter. Any ideas for a better filter. Also i need to know what I can use for some more water flow since I dont have underground filter.

a powerhead should do good. i have a penguin on my tank. what are the dimensions of ur tank? im still trying to figure out if my tank is a 15g or 20g. i took out half the water capacity and i took out 6 gallons.

My tank is two feet left to right, not sure how tall, just remember it is a 20 tall. I can use a powerhead without a undergravel filter? Do you run the carbon in you filter?

carbon comes with the filter inserts i use. an undergravel filter is not necessary. my tank is 24" long, 17" heigh,12" wide.
