Well I just found out I can buy water from my local store. Its from a machine..says its first uv filtered, then sed. filtered, then carbon, then membrane, then carbon again ,and finnaly uv again. Said it was a RO/DI water for .39 a gal. Sounds cheaper than buying a ro/di system and replacing filter cart. Anyome else do this and how good of a results do you get??

I own vending machines like you are talking about. The water that you get out of one of those machines is for the most part better water. Because of the pumps and the membranes they use are so much bigger and better than the house units. But in the long run you would be better off buying a house unit. That is what i do and i own vending units.

I s it cheaper to own a house unit? And if I dont have the resourses to buy now then it would be ok to use for now?

Yes it is ok to use for now home units are not that high. I know Kent has some and all the others that are on here adn i know i will ruffle some fins here but here goes. Find a cheap home unit then if you want to get better filters no one is going to stop you. Just make sure you get a 4 or five stage thats it its really not that hard.
