Water Paramaters.. good/bad?

Ammonia= 0.25
pH= 8.6
Alk= Normal
Nitrite= 0
Nitrate= 0
i thought the pH was kinda high, why would get high and how can i reduce it? Water changes im guessing right?
edit: the tank is 4 months old now and since u cant see my signature here is the stuff i have:

20gal High tank
1 Tetra-Tec 150gph Carbon Filter
1 Tera-Tec 150gph Heater
1 50gph Powerhead
1 30gph Powerhead
130 watts of light one-65watt 10,000k/one-65 watt Antic
Inhabitants:
3-4" of LS
25lbs of LR
2 False Percs(Ocellaris Clownfish)
1 Green Button Polyp-Medium
1 Yellow Colony Colony Polyp-Medium
1 Hairy Mushroom Coral-Medium

Ph is a bit high but Ammonia is also a bit high - should be zero.
I would change some water and try to find the source of ammonia.

you can get ph down drops
you can get ph correct powder/tabs
or you can do 10% water change
with some corals/inverts the powder or tabs can have an ill effect
some people are not fans of adding chemicals and chose to do a water change because of the effects of doing a water change has on all of natural salt water chemicals i would chose to buy drops to adjust ph level very inexpensive very quick
also availalble ph up if you need it
drops also give you the choose of making a slow change

i would agree with the water change, usually is the best bet instead of chemicals.
