Water parameters with new RO unit?????

My hubby just installed my new RO unit and I checked the water parameters...
PH 7.4
Nitrate 10
Nitrite 0
and
AMMONIA .25
This is the first batch of water I have gotten out and I was wondering why it has ANY ammonia at all. Does it have to run for a while?
I'm confused.

I think you need to run it for 2 hours or a minimum of 20gal depending on the unit. It should say to discard "X" amount of water when first using on the directions. That is weird your getting amonia reading on your tap water that can't be good. Are you sure your container is clean?
