is carbon filtrated water good enough to use as top off water?

if yo are talking about like a Britta filter...i wouldn't... IMO the only water that should be used is RO or RO/Di...carbon filters do not remove everything in tap water that can affect a tank.

Wal Mart drinking water is RO, UV, and carbon filtered. I keep gallons of this stuff at home for top offs. I had bad luck with their distilled water however and have had nothing but success with the drinking water. I don't have an RO unit so I have to buy my liquids :)

its better than non filtered water, phosphates is prolly the biggest concern... if you can get RO water use it instead... JMO
