water question

I am in the process of putting a little water in my 240 gallon. I have 60 gallons in it so far and now i am waiting to get a little money for sand and live rock. The question is; is the water ok just sitting there or do i need to have a powerhead circulating the water around a little bit?

I'd put a couple PHs in there just to keep the water oxygenated and prevent it from getting to stagnant.
