Water Temp

Steve, since you do not have a fuge or canopy...my idea probab;y wont work. I have a 120 mm computer fan over my sump/fuge ...and I have 2 - 120 mm fans in my canopy.....Sometimes it gets to cold and I have to unplug a fan or 2. Fans WILL do a great job of reducing the temp in the tank.

Where do you live in South Florida? metweezer@aol.com. I plan on buying a fan for both my DT & QT when I can find them at Walmart or Dollar General.
Take Care, Steve

Is this too hot
I live in FL. I have been on the lookout for some small hang-on fans, but it is January and they are not in the stores yet.
Thanks, Steve

Anyone with this problem, make sure it isn't being caused by a bad heater! I accepted that my lighting was causing my tank to stay above 80, then it kept creeping up and up over the last 2 years.. I tested and found out that TWO of my 3 heaters were defective. One wasn't working at all, the other was always on, no matter what you set it to. Thankfully I went with 3 SMALL heaters, else the bad one would have boiled by little fishes :( Removed the 2 bad heaters, now my tank's keeping at 78, which is slightly above room temperature. Gotta replace the other heaters before winter comes so I don't burn out the good one...
