i dont have an ro/di water system so would i be better off using distilled water from albertsons super market or just regular faucet water and test for cu?

Check with the company that supplies the distilled water for Albertsons and verify that they do not use copper condensation tubes and if they don't, by all means use the distilled.

couldnt i just test the distilled water for cu by using one of those lab test? i am not saying i would not call teh company, but was just wondering, would the test catch the cu if the company had used cu pipes?

sure you could! Most hobbyist's don't have a copper test kit, that's why I didn't mention it.

U dont have a ro/di unit in ur house for drinking water? Just normal water that u would drink. That wouldnt work as good as a FISH made one but it is still safe..

You can get a bare bones for 80 bucks which makes ro water. You can get a tap water purifier by aquarium pharmasudicals for 40 bucks or less. Or you can just add plain water with a conditioner for 1.49? all these things work its just to what degree do you care? I used to live in a place where the water was netorius for how bad it was. People use to say you can chew the water. I tested that water and still found it less PPM than would make a difference. Its all in what you want and are willing to pay for. Albertsons water if it suits you would most likely be fine, its just pricey if you have to keep adding it all the time. You can probobly pay for one of the above things I mentioned before too long. If you want, go with the albertons water and add water conditioner just to make sure.
