I had a couple of aptasia AND some mojano pop up when I was first filling my tank with LR. I got on this site and looked for ways to kill these critters. The syringe method may work, but getting ahold of a syringe it a royal pain in the rear - since I don't shoot heroin - and I'm not diabetic. I went to all the pharmacies in town - and nobody would sell one to me.
Alas, I came up with a (dare I say it) BETTER way to rid my tank of these pests. Use some reef epoxy (your LFS may sell it) to form a small ball, and then squish the 'lil

into the rock from which they are growing - entomb them! Just make sure that you cover them completely - or they'll pop back out. After I had eliminated my tank of these guys, I put another blob of reef epoxy above their grave site and attached small shell - looks like nothing ever happened.
Just my thoughts - have fun killing those guys WITHOUT A NEEDLE!

Have fun killing those guys WITH A NEEDLE.
And one does not have to be a diabetic or herion addict to get a hold of a syringe. I have never seen insulin or herion and I had no problem asking my primary care physician for one.

If anyone needs a syringe and can't find one just go to home depot in the flooring dept. they use them for injecting glue under flooring or call my boss he is a heroin junkey I think :sleepy:

Doodle -
Did the syringe work?
You may have to repeat the process in a week or so. Sometimes it seems you get them, but they can be pretty stubborn.
Plus, it allows you to minimize the addition of calcium, vinegar, etc. at one time.
Let us know how it went.

I injected a few last night and they shriveled up to a little ball. They tried to withdraw when the needle hit them. So we'll see today. I'm worried about the lobo though - it seems 1/2 the size it used to be. Over the last few weeks its been getting smaller and smaller. I'm wondering if I'm caring for it properly..
anyways - I'll take some pics this weekend..

Doodle,
Don't get discouraged. You may have to try again. To increase the chances for success, you need a clean shot into them before they recede.
Good luck.

Doodle,
now you know why I ruined one of my syringes and dug a hole in my LR. They can retract pretty fast and usually have a nice deep hole to hide in. Don't give up. Trust me it works when you hit them. Also make sure you pump enough of the liquid calcium into them.
