im confused on the lighting some.....i currently have a 384watt compact light. i was looking to upgrade to t5s.
my question is if i go from 384compact to 216 t5s would that be a upgrade or downgrade?

My "gut" tells me this is an upgrade. T5s are so much more efficient than PC, that even with just over half the wattage, it should produce more usable PAR.
Especially with individual reflectors.

that would be an upgrade. the t-5 lights are more intense and put out more par than the power compact lighting so even though you are downgrading in wattage overall you are upgrading your lights. with that said this is only if they have individual reflectors if it has one reflector for all the bulbs then I would say it isnt a upgrade but a side step.

check out the aquactinics tx5 or a tek light. both have individual reflectors and are good lights.
