Wave maker or more pumps? w/ pic

I am getting some dead spots in my tank. Worst spot is bottom left side. I get some red algae behind the clam during the day and clean up crew has it gone by morning. Running MH 250w x 2 7 hours and and 2 t5 act 9h. I am wondering if I should get a wave maker or another pump. Top left of pic I have 1 1050 Hydor koralia Evo facing the front glass of the tank and on the right a 1050 shooting across the tank and a 1400 shooting at the front of the glass on that side. My return pump (700 gph) you can see one goes down my back wall and other at front middle glass. Sorry for reflection in the pic =p
Also with the sps (bird nest, acro, and monti right now) would be helpful to have the wave maker either way with or without a new pump?
90 gallon 30 gallon fuge

Tank looks good I would first look at my water quality and see if there was a fix there. If this was going to be SPS dominant tank then yes on wave maker...

I would definitely increase water flow... As your corals grow an even LR will hinder flow throughout a tank. Maybe repositioning PH's soul work ad well. The new Evo's or better yet something like the Vortech or Tunzes on a controller.

I did a good size water change and that seemed to help the algae. I still think I would like to get a vortech just to add some change to the flow.

one MP40 on ReefCrest mode would probably do the trick. I run one MP40, a return pump (13000gph I think) and One Fluval FX5 (yes I run a sump and canister filter) is all I run in my 155 and I have no dead spots. I run the MP40 at about 75%

HMMMM....I have 6 Koralias, 2 canisters I use with flow bars, the return pump
Do you think one Mp40 would take the place of all my Koralias

You'd probably need to keep one on the opposite side of the tank. Don't forget, you have a bigger tank than me, this is in the 155.
Well, maybe just one if you have two canisters...
Honestly, I did not believe how well the Vortech's worked until I got one myself. The seriously are amazing little machines.

I only paid $310 for mine brand new and it's a wireless, generation 2 model.

LOL...I'll be shopping around....I just did a quick glance.....too tired now
I got mine through a local guy. If you can't find anything under $400, let me know, I may be able to get more. I'm planning on placing a second one in my 180 when I move just to have both, so I'll be shopping for one as well. They also just came out with an MP60 recently.

Meowzer definitely you could do away with some of your PH's with the Vortech.
YEAH, I am definitely going to look into these.....ALTHO I do not know how or where I would place it.....
I will have to do a diagram (HAHA) of how my Powerheads are set up...and to show the 2 flow bars, and where my return comes into the tank....then maybe you guys can give me some suggestions....BEFORE I buy one :)

The vortech's have alot nicer/wider flow pattern to the over what your running. The only issues are some have experienced them not staying together, but think most of that's been resolved. You can buy extra wet sides as well for them, and with the slaves you coil produce nice flow IMO if on the end of the tank. They also have a battery backup unit that can be purchased, as well as a wireless setup. Have heard they aren't the greatest, but it's an option!!!

I have the wireless option and battery backup and could not be happier. The people that have the most issues with them are the ones that a) have the first generation model, b) mess with them all the time or c) don't install them properly.
I actually know a lot of people in my local reef club that have them (we did a group buy and got a great deal).
They really can reach far, and since it's not just a powerhead, but has different pulses/settings, it creates water movement throughout the tank.
