Weber Grills?

So I'm thinking about buying a Weber Grill. The only thing is I'm not sure which one I should get. I can't tell the difference between the E-310 and E-320. And minus another couple inches on the side, and a few more BTU is there any difference between the Spirit models and the Genesis model?

Come on stdreb, real Texans don't barbeque on gas. Weber's an overrated grill for yuppies and them 'northener's'.

If you want a multi-purpose grill, get one of these Char-Griller Trio's at Academy. It has a 3-burner gas grill, a grill you can use just charcoal in, or it can be used as a smoker to smoke brisket or ribs using the third side fire box. I just got one and cooked some of the best brisket I've had in years. Smoked a 8 pound brisket for almost 9 hours. So tender, you could cut it with a fork.

Looks like the main difference is that the 320 has the side burner on the left where the 310 doesn't.
Weber definitely makes the best gas grills out there. I have my fathers grill that is probably 20 years old and it still works great! I also have my standalone smoker for real BBQ but for burgers, chicken or a quick steak you can't beat the Weber for speed and convenience.

Who said I was BBQing on gas? It is called realistic, I don't have time to spend an hour every night lighting some pecan wood, to grill steaks or fish on... With a propane grill I can have steaks finished in 35 minutes from when I take the steaks out of the fridge. VS 2 hours for anything on a real wood fire... This is just for ease of use, when I don't have the time to do some real cooking.
I'm getting a smoker too, for the real BBQ. And not one of those dumb electronic smokers. A 1/4 inch steel all welded, indirect fire box, probably do a 20" barrel and 36" in length.
I did look at the little gizmo you're talking about. And I do think it is a pretty good bang for your buck. The problem is I couldn't do more than one brisket, forget a rack of ribs, and 20 pounds of chicken along with it.
Besides that one, I haven't seen any other viable options, they're all poorly constructed, flimsy, and full of gimics, one grill I looked at had little led's to above the knobs for no reason, another had a crappy fridge. Those webers besides the rediculous prices looks like it will actually last for more than a year before I have to start working on it.

Webers are definitely one instance where you get what you pay for...

What do you mean, I don't have to take an hour to get the wood burned down to the coals for cooking. The fire I make would run cooler than on a propane grill. So the cooking time would be alot longer too. Verses lighting a propane grill and having it hot in 5 minutes. Then running it hotter to cook the steaks.

Weber is ok, but if you want a really good grill, go to Home Depot and get a Vermont Castings....#1 in Consumer Reports pretty much every year.

Weber is the way to go. Here is what most don't realize with a weber. Your parts are warrantied for 15-25 years depending on what part it is. There are a couple parts with a five year warranty. Find another grill that will back that up.
The weber's do not have any "cold" spots. They evenly heat. Other gas grills do. They are constructed a lot better than most grills and the burner technology is superior.Once you grill on one, you will never want to grill on any other gas grill ever.
Since you are just looking for something for ease of grilling and not looking for bells and whistles...stick with the spirit. How often do you use a side burner? And are you gonna be throwing parties? If so then the Genisis would be your better option.

Don't need the side burner. Or rotisserie, what would be nice, if they had one that had lights on the grill, so I don't have to grill with my headlamp...

DO NOT get the Vermont Castings they sell at Home Depot. Its not actually made by Vermont Castings, but by a company in China. My folks bought me one as a housewarming gift when I bought my house. The whole bottom grease catch pan rotted out after only 2 seasons of regular use. The regular Vermont Castings grills that you can get at regular dealers (which cost twice as much) are very good, but the Home Depot models are crap.

Home Depot doesn't carry vermont castings anymore.
Also, nothing will touch the Weber warrnty...instead buying replacement parts, you call them up and ship it out to you.
Also, Home depot has a grill light made by weber specifically for the grills.

Kenmore has a grill where it is built in, but I think they're placed too low. I'll stick with my headlamp.

Just confused you are grilling not BBGqing so why would you use raw wood to cook steaks instead of lump charcoal( which is hard wood) you can get the lump going in about 20 min with a chimney lighter and paraffin cubs. You can also get close to 700 degrees with lump. propane does not come close and is a wet fire (releases moister).
I would defiantly get a rotisserie for my gas grill( whole chickens, boneless leg of lamb, est come out great)
BTW I have a $1000. gas grill from Costco and a Weber One Touch 22.5" Charcoal Grill for about $100. and i love them both

If I do a direct fire, usually I'll cook it really cool, I love a smoked steak. What kind of charcoal do you use to light that quick, even if I use a chimney it takes about 40 minutes to get it where I like it. (although that is pretty burned down.) About the only non smoked chicken I'll make is a drunk chicken.

I just order takeout!

Seriously, Weber makes a quality product. I have had my basic Weber charcoal grill since 1996 and my gas grill (Charbroil) since 2000. I have relaced the burners twice since then.
