Best thing to do is find someone to come in and feed for you. My neighbor feeds the fish and cats while we are gone. He even tops off the tank when the water level gets low.
Another alternative is to spen $40 on an automatic feeder device for the tank. It runs like a timer and drops a specific amount of food at a specific time each day.

Your fish will be just fine without food for a week. They will just be REALLY happy to see you when you get back.
It would not hurt at all to have someone check on the tank once a day or so, but I would aviod asking someone to feed them for fear of overfeeding.
