I thought this was funny..my sand sifting star had come up from the sandbed and started hauling butt across the tank (like it always does, comes up at a dead run) and tumbled over a hermit crab...but the hermit held on and pulled itself up to the center where it cruised for a while. Of course, when I went to get the camera, it was already crawling down off the arm  But here's the picture anyway, with my giant hermit in the background lol

Well, there's a funny story on this one. I've wanted a frogfish forever...and a friend of mine went to Dallas, and since he's a saltwater nut, he went through all the LFS's there. He called me frantic from one of them, about peeing himself about them having the frogfish I wanted.
He went ahead and bought it for me, got it home...and I said "What is this?" Not that it wasn't a cool fish, it's just that it wasn't a frogfish lol But the LFS had it labelled as a frogfish and it was yellow and looked a bit like he thought it should. It's growing on me though. But now I can't have my frogfish unless I find this fish a good home. It's a chameleon, which is pretty cool.
Anyways, it's really only about 4-4.5 inches long, but it's about as tall lol It's the funniest fish. It rarely moves, but it constantly tilts back and forth. I believe it's a leaf scorpionfish. They're venomous. When I look at it, I think "It looks like a lionfish and a yellow clown goby had a baby."

Unfortunately, I bought one of those scorpions when I was just starting out in the hobby and it was one of the biggest mistakes I have made. I didn't research it and it ate The two other fish in the tank in about three hours. Never moved but, strikes unbeleivably fast. No thanks for me but, they sure are neat looking.

Oooh nice!!
How much did you pay for him if you dont mind me asking?
Also, how big do they get?
My lfs had a red one in, £75! A bit pricey, but i think it would of been worth it. Another thing i remember, it was only taking live ghost shrimp, nothing frozen..
And i saw it eat a ghost shrimp, and RyeBreed, you are very correct, they strike extremely quickly dont they!
Nice fish!
James:)

I paid $44.00 for him (Online I think they're around $25.00..but with shipping/hassle if it doesn't make it, it was worth it)
I think they get around 4-5" They require a 20-25gal tank (most likely want them in a species tank since they'll eat anything that fits in their mouth...which means anything pretty much, unless it's really thick bodied)
I know Rye! You'd think they'd have a hard time catching fish...well, they would, but they're anglers...so they get to just sit there, rocking back and forth and food comes to them. I like watching him change colors. I'm not sure how they work exactly, if some are pink and some are yellow, I've seen them both...but I also know that I've seen it go from sunshine yellow to poo brown in 2 seconds fat...

Sorry if this is an old post... but I have a Leaf Fish too!!! Have you had any luck weaning yours to frozen food? I haven't seen mine change color yet... it's about 3 inches long.
