Weekend Project

We decided to devote this year to fixing up the backyard. We've done all the landscaping ourselves, including installing sprinkler system (never again) We were originally going to have water cascading down the entire front of this wall. This is going to be really trick when done, there will be 8 suspended pots that will have these wild looking cactuses (sp) A row of 3, then a row of 2 underneath that and another row of 3 on the bottom. The pots will have a metal ring that has a bolt on the backside, this bolt will go thru the wall and it will look like the pots are kinda floating. I have to let the tile dry for a day or two, then I can pressure wash the slate and apply the semi-gloss sealer, then comes the fun of grouting....

This shot shows how much work we've done, we figure that we've saved about 20k on doing everything ourselves, there is a side yard for the dogs that we just finished

Very very slick. I'm going to be buying my first home in the next few months, and can't wait to start all kinds of projects.

OUCH!!!!!.....I must have bumped my head when I started this project, I worked in the backyard all day not even thinking that I needed to put some sunblock on, ended up at the doctors office this moring due to sevear sunburns on my entire back. Doc gave me 2 steriod shots, antibiotics and some stupidly expensive silvidine (sp) cream, It hurts so bad that they also gave me some REALLY effective painkillers, feels like my back is on fire, can't wear a shirt or laydown.....

I should mention that 2 weeks ago It was made very clear to me that I was not to mention any type of coral, complain about a skimmer, rant about how small my tanks were or experience any type of panic attack if somebody messed around with my tanks and to stop hiding the credit card bills. I was also told that housework and design projects had to be finished or I was going to experience pain of such magnitude that a --- change operation would feel like being tickled with a feather duster.
Now, I've never been attacked by a fish, stung by anthing (the zoo poisioning several months back doesn't count) In other words, it's a pain free hobby, but I go outside for one day to do a project and "bam" I'm at the doctors office the next day.
I figure the pain and suffering is worth at the minimum, a new MRC skimmer or a 72" Solaris, I'm going to work this for all it's worth.
Other half is steamed, just for fun I had my doc give me a 2 week light duty work release....LOL....

Your yard looks good! Wanna come to Arizona and help me with mine? It's only a fraction of the size of yours, so it shouldn't take very long. And I'll even throw in some SPF 45, if that helps influence your decision!!!!!

Sorry to hear about the sunburn. Ouch!
