Weird clown fish

I posted this in another foru, but not many people have read it or replied, so this is what I wrote, "Well I've had my clown fish for about 5 months so far, and for about the last couple of weeks, my larger of the 2 clown fish has been floating around the tank on it's side. At night he goes into a corner and sleeps there. For those with a sense of humor, he's still alive. But my other clown fish is perfectly happy. Any ideas. Itested my PH and all that is and it's all normal. 8.2ish. But it does seem my clown fish is breathing kind of hard and doesn't eat at all."
I was advised to get some Maracyn two, but from where? Anybody have any ideas what could be wrong with my fish?

I have a clownfish that does that. He'll go to the top of the tank and turn sideways and kind of float for hours, then he'll swim around the tank normally later in the day or when I feed him. I soon learned that the floating is how he sleeps. He does it at night when the light is off, too. :notsure:

I used to have freshwater angelfish and that happened when they had swim bladder problems. I assume saltwater fish get it too. When the freshwater fish had it, there was never anything I could really do to save them. Maybe other people have more advice or you could do a search on it. Sorry I'm not more help!

I'm guessing swim bladder disorder too. Nothing you can really do now. Just give him a varied diet.

so if it is a bladder infection, she's suck like that for the rest of her life? That sucks, nothinglike having a fish stuck to the top of your tank.

It isn't an infection or a disease, just a disorder. IME in freshwater, it is temporary. Comes from a not varied diet, overfeeding, or underfeeding for a few weeks then suddenly feeding normally.
