Does anyone know why my clowns swim then turn on there side and shake and spaz out then just start swimming again. I have had both of them for over a year.

Maybe they are courting, but Clowns just seem to have those quirky behaviors! I love to watch mine!
So entertaining!

Usually this is their "mating dance"

the male (the one that does the little seizures) is trying to tell the female (the one that attacks the other clown) that he is the inferior. its like he is worshiping her

If they act like mine, they will start swishing their tails under a rock to make a cave :) Of course I added a Condy to this tank and it of course went RIGHT INTO their cave and anchored

If you have had them both for over a year then you probably have a pair that will spawn!! Very exciting!! Congrats : )

you know thats interesting, ive had my perculas for about three months and they do that all the time. thats very intreging, i always thought they were "scratching" so to speak

agreed, mating dance. I had a pair or tomato clowns and the female got a bit too agressive. I found my poor little male tomato clown on the bottom of the tank yesterday with his entire tail fin eaten off. So by yesterday afternoon he went into shock and died...I hope you have better luck than I have had with your clowns. Now the female is getting more agressive and she is going back to the LFS.
