Weird fluffy white things

Hi all-
I started my 37 gallaon tank in December with about 15 lbs of cured live rock. I have taken my time adding things, and have enjoyed watching my live rock come to life. I now have 1 cute clown fish, 1 copperhead butterfly and 1 anenome. My question is I have noticed these weird white fluffy guys coming out of the rock and cant figure out what they are, and if they need to be erradicated. They almost look like butterfly cocoons, just fluffier.
Just wondering if anyone has any idea.

Where's the anemone?
I hate to say this, but you should give the copperband butterfly back.....they need much more established tanks, and even then are VERY hard to keep alive....

Ah, OK..Those rude little brown anenome things.
I just got a Copperhead Butterfly fish and was told by LFS that they eat those. Unfortunately he also ate all my BEAUTIFUL fan worms.

Thanks for the info-I am still so new in the hobby. Any info helps!

The copperband should have eated the aptasia already, maybe he isn't doing to good at the moment. Also middle second pictures looks like aptasia.

Oh NO! how established?????
Yep- a little clown fish. The anenome is hiding on the side of the rock.
Butterfly is 3 days in the tank. How long before I will notice a problem with the butterfly?

Well, I have had my tank running for 3 months. Clown fish has been in there for 3 weeks. Got Butterfly and anenome 3 days ago. I DID research, and was looking for a longnose butterfly. I was told by LFS Copperhead was fine.
Geez, now I am all stressed. I assumed 3 months was established enough for an anenome

remember some lfs are there to make money.
many people here are marine bio, and learn from experience and dont want the same mistake happened to another.
not trying to be mean but thats why there are forums to ask questions and get answer. we may not answer right away but we will in a few.
establish we mean 6 months and more. 3 months the tank is really not establish yet

An anenome needs very good stable water conditions and very high light and even at that can be very difficult. It doesn't look like you have very strong light. Is it just a regular aquarium light? Standard t-8 bulb?

Don;t stress....remember LFS are there to make sales.....most anemones should not go into a tank under 6 months old
The butterfly is a copperband not head.....look into them some...they really need a specific diet....I had one last 2 weeks :( fine one day...dead the next
we will help best we can, but you really just need to step back and read.....read threads here, some books like the conscientious marine aquarist....etc....

However, your experience can be different. I added my anemone early on as well, fed him chunks of shrimp every week and he is now my monster. He is atleast 12inches. If you have good lighting, just keep an eye on him. Dont stress yourself too much, and ask ask ask. Oh...please get rid of your aiptasia before they become a plague in your tank.
