Just found this at the back of my tank on the sand what is it? Looks like a tied up bunch of shells with a long protruding tube, with some fluffy stuff out the top. Weirdest part Ian that it's moving, not walking around or anything but periodically shakes or leans over then rights itself (not flow)

Isolated in a cup in my sump for the time being. Also I scanned the tank I don't see an anymore of those. I do have 2 feather dusters in my rocks but this doesn't have a crown

I like to use a flashlight with the lights off, never know what to expect looks to be a feather duster but I have never seen the whole body of one Have you seen it open up may even have tentacles...Interesting

Not normal to grow in the sand. Most likely came dislodged from a rock. Fish or something picking at it is what I'm guessing.

Been looking around ever since the posting on vibrio bacteria infections...not saying it's a "must do", but my clowns bite don't draw blood, mostly just startle you when least expect it. They attack everything foreign.. found these two https://www.amazon.com/Atlas-Glove-WG772L-26-Inch-Nitrile/dp/B001PBEJ0A/ref=pd_cp_469_4?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B001PBEIZQ&pd_rd_r=0SGPAYV6MZD0XEN7Q9KY&pd_rd_w=UYkGZ&pd_rd_wg=9ShDo&refRID=0SGPAYV6MZD0XEN7Q9KY&th=1 In reviews claim to be aquarium safe but also emit a strong smell..here is the other link https://www.amazon.com/Coralife-Ene...rd_wg=I43Yp&psc=1&refRID=WNEBRG0EBNM910NG008Y

I leave them. But I only count maybe a dozen or so through out the whole tank.

Compared to my 55g I had a few years back that had hundreds of them I figure I'm doing pretty good this time around.

I only see them in areas not easily accessible to kill. But FWIW, I do have a six line in there as well. Can't find any on the outer surfaces of the rock.

Thanks both of you! Yeah I really should get gloves because my foxface always nuzzles my hand and I'm gonna get stung one day.

Ahhh maybe my fairy wrasse or coral banded shrimp does something about them. Over the past 2 months I've found and removed 2 vertemid snails total, never seen others
