Weird item found in tank

The only way I can describe what I see are a bunch, approx. 15 stringy things coming out behind a rock and feeding itself. I cannot see what it is because the body of it is hiding. I see the stringy things reaching around and taking things off the rocks and what is weird is I see the stuff he has taken off the rocks slowly travel down back to him. Any idea what it could be? Should I try and get rid of it. These liverocks sure have strange surprises.

look in the hitchhikers id forum, under snails. more specifically Vermetid Snails. the things you see are their mucus "nets" they are harmless but they can get annoying when their nets get big.

Could also be a spahgetti worm..They can have one or more long whitish or light colored feelers that they extend out of a hole n the rock to gather food......Watch and see if you see sand particles etc clinging to these "feelers" and moving towards the rock like something on a conveyor line....If so, its probably a spahgetti worm.....good to have......Often times, you will see small pieces of sand and debri dropping from a live rock where this worm throws out its trash, and often times it forms a small pile at the exit from the trash it pushes back out.

This is exactly what it is doing. Really neat just wanted to make sure it is safe to have. Thanks and I am just amazed at how much there is to sit and watch for hours. Everyday there is something I notice that is new or different. The L/R has been nothing but full of surprises for me to enjoy.

This thing really grows fast. You can see it searching for stuff over different rocks. The stringy things get really long.
