Weird "thing" growing under my ricordia?

Does anyone know what this "worm looking" thing is under my ricordia? I just got the ricordia rock about a week ago and the green one doesn't seem to be happy all the time. Tonight he closed up and I noticed these two things growing underneath him. It doesn't look like a sponge... rather smooth and silky. Any ideas?
I'm wondering if I should remove them or relocate them. - They don't move...

It doesn't seem like a sponge to me. Wouldn't a sponge have openings or at least a valve or two somewhere on its body to pass water? These are perfectly smooth all around (at least the parts I can see). My instincts tell me to remove them.

I thought shrooms closed up like that when eating, figured mine don't eat, cause only saw one of mine do this, only lasted afew mins then was back to normal.

Its a sponge (Chondrilla)...chicken liver sponge. Its reef safe but can smother corals and kill them. From the looks of the pic, it is under the Ricordia....so thats good. I have those myself on a Ric rock and the mushroom folds over it so it will be ok. Just keep your eye on it. I have not had any problems. The diversity is cool

I am not sure thats the case. Most all my Ricordia does that at night.
