Weird Unidentified Inverts

I have recently noticed 2 inverts in my saltwater reef tank and was wondering if anyone can identify them and tell me whether they are good or bad.
1. A white opaque small filter feeder that is 1/2 " by 1/8" cylinder shape. It looks like a miniature cactus, but doesn't really have spikes on it. They hang on glass, on rock and are in the sump of my wet dry. They have multiplied fast, particularly in the sump, where they have taken on a yellowish sheen.
2. A colony of 50 or so bright green snot colored slug-like tubes that look like the roots that grow out of old potatoes left in the bag too long has sprung up on the filter pad of my whisper 5 secondary filter which I use only for mechanical filtration. They did not appear to move, and were not slimy when I touched them. When I tried to pull them off, they broke into pieces.

Sounds like something out of a b-rated horror movie.-never heard of either, sorry. Try taking a sample to the lfs and see if they know before they take over your whole tank.
Hopefully they can help. Did these things come out of lr??

Posted a pic of something similar to your first specimen recently.

This pic shows what I've had in my tank for several months now. Mostly in dimly lit areas and my filters. The color is off but the shape was what I was getting at with that pic. Other than that it sounds exactly like what I have.
Well... All that and still no answer....Sorry

MikeTV,
That is exactly what has appeared in my tank.
Can anyone identify it from the picture he provided the link to? Beneficial or harmful?

the first sounds like a filter feeder .... clean you tank better and more often, every 2-3 weeks........ the second sounds like bubble alga...not too bad a thing as long as it does not get out of control, a emerald crab eats it.... so will a tuxedo urchin.

The second item, green shoots are not like bubble algae. Growing some in, some out of the water on a filter pad. Looked a lot more like plant shoots than a mass of algae. The only way I know they are not plant shoots is they are not connected.
