Weld-on alternatives

I need to bond two pieces of acrylic together (face to face) they will not be underwater or under tremendous pressure. What alternates are there. I would prefer something clear if possible.

Someone suggested homemade weldon can be made with a mix of 1 part acrylic to 3 to 4 parts acetone. Any thoughts?

We use acetone here in the engraving shop to put acrylic bases on acrylic pieces after we laser engrave them.
